Phi Delta Theta was founded in 1848 by five students at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio by  six students who are collectively known as The Immortal Six. Phi Delta Theta is distinctly an international fraternity with over 160 active chapters and colonies in Canada and the United States. Our fraternity points with pride to its alumni, which include Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig; Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon; Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd Presdient of the United States; actor Burt Reynolds; architect Frank Lloyd Wright; as well as the CEOs and Chairmen of the compaies wuch as Tyson Foods, General Motors, Hewlett-Packard, and marriott Hotels.

Missouri Beta Chapter was established in the year 1880 with the help of national founder, Robert Morrison. Morrison, a Presbyterian minister, came to Fulton, Missouri to become the financial agent of Westminster College. By the fall of 1881, Morrison's work helped keep the college open, liquidating its debt of of more than $14.000. He is buried here in Fulton. Since the chapter's founding, over one thousand eight hundred and eighty men have passed through its mystic portals. The chapter is located on Westminster Avenue (fraternity row) and consists of three floors. In 2010, the bathrooms were renovatedand the floors were refinshed, reviving the original wood.

Scholarship
One of the founding principles of Phi Delta Theta is Sound Learning. Your academic education is the most important reason for attending college. Our scholarship program is designed to improve study skills, reward success, and give our members an academic edge. We offer nightly study hall in Coulter Science Center for all members. Prospective members are required to earn a 2.5 GPA in order to be initiated. Active members of Phi Delta Theta are required to maintain a 2.5 GAP in order to remain members in good standing.

Phi Delta Theta rewards academic success through eight member-only scholarships.

Leadership and Involvement
There are many opportunities to learn and grow outside the classroom. Members of Phi Delta Theta are involved on Westminster's campus and take advantage of the many leadership opportunities available. Over 60 different campus approved organizations, boards, and clubs have one or more Phi Delts in their membership; from the Social Judiciary Board and the Student Foundation, to the Academy Debate Club and Outdoor Club, to Alphi Chi Honor Society and the National Society for Leadership and Success. some members of Phi Delta Theta are NCAA Division III athlets and as a chapter we participate in Intramural Sports on campus (including softball, futsal, volleyball, basketball and flag football).

Social Events
Friendship is one of the founding principles of Phi Delta Theta. Recognizing the importance of building and preserving our friendships, we organize various activities which bring the whole house together. We host social events, organize sorority mixers, and welcome families for our Parents Weekend. Our strong belief in brotherhood and the unity of the fraternity have been able to create life-long bonds that are only attributed to our membership in Phi Delta Theta.

Philanthropy and Service
Moral Rectitude is a founding principle of Phi Delta. As Phi Delts, we value helping others. As a chapter, we are dedicated to volunteer work and participate in every community service opportunity in Fulton that we can. For the last 131 years, Phi Delta Theta has been providing service to Westminster College and the community of Fulton. Our members volunteer at the Fulton YMCA, work at the local soup kitchen, and clean up our stretch of US Highway 54. We organize and volunteer for campus blood drives, we are committed to recycling, and much more.

The Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity has an official partnership with the ALS Association. Each year, we host a week-long philanthropy event called "Miss Phi Delta Theta" to spread awareness and raise money for ALS (also known as Lou Gehring's disease). We also value the philanthropic efforts of other Greek organizations and support the chosen charities of fellow Greeks. For that reason, we are committed to participating in and donating to every sorority philanthropy event offered on both William Woods University and on Westminster's campus.
