“Westminster means a tight knit family to me. Everyone knows everyone; they will celebrate your triumphs with you and be there to support you when you are down. Once you are in the Westminster family you are a part of it for life.”

Sarah Ayers, Class of 2021

Welcome to the Blue Jay Family! The transition to college is often a new experience for families too. At Westminster we want to ensure that families are comfortable with this transition and are equipped with the resources they need to help support their student’s education. We know that you are important to your student’s experience, so we want to provide you with the information to help your student as they take their first steps on their Westminster journey!

Check back here during the summer for information and tips from current Westminster students and faculty/staff about how to make an easy move to Westminster!

Your student’s academic success is our priority! Students receive personalized academic advising from their freshman seminar faculty and will be provided with a faculty advisor in their field when they declare their major. Advisors will help students register for courses and will provide information about campus resources and opportunities. Students can also take advantage of academic support from student tutors, assistance from the Tomnitz Learning Opportunities Center, or aid from our Math and Writing Labs on campus. Our early alert system, WCares, ensures that faculty and staff can reach out to struggling students and provide the assistance they may need.
We want your student to be healthy and happy, and we know personal wellness is an essential piece of college success. We offer free physical and mental health support for students through Westminster’s Wellness Center, and our Peer Health Educators provide additional education and resources for students.
We want you to be a part of the Blue Jay family as well! Visit campus at one of our Welcome to Westminster events, learn information for admitted students at a SOAR day, and help us celebrate campus traditions like Convocation and the Columns Ceremony. Join us on campus in October during Homecoming.
