Career Opportunities

The demand for graduates of these programs is increasing as teams find more competition for the consumer's leisure dollar. At one time, major sports had their seasons to themselves but that has drastically changed as seasons and franchises have expanded. Successful franchises now depend on successful management more than ever.

Many graduates in this major work for Sports teams in management positions, and others as coaches for teams in Kansas City, St. Louis and also at Universities.
Our students to enhance their interests and job opportunities, have interned with St. Louis Cardinals, Sporting KC, Cal Ripken Jr. Baseball and, most prestigious, The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
You will need 38 credit hours beyond GENED classes and the GPA requirement is 2.0 on average for your major courses.

This major is designed for students looking for careers with sports team, due to this it is designed accordingly to include classes from Health and Exercise Science and Psychology department.  Given the nature of courses in the major students have picked up minors in Business administration as well.
